Lambeth Cleaners Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions govern the provision of cleaning services by Lambeth Cleaners to its customers. By booking a service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully before placing a booking.

1. Definitions

In these Terms and Conditions, the following definitions apply:

Customer means any individual, business, or organisation that requests or receives services from Lambeth Cleaners.

Services means any cleaning or related services provided by Lambeth Cleaners, including but not limited to domestic cleaning, commercial cleaning, end of tenancy cleaning, deep cleaning, and one-off cleaning.

Booking means any order or request for Services placed by the Customer and accepted by Lambeth Cleaners.

Cleaner means any staff member, contractor, or representative assigned by Lambeth Cleaners to perform the Services.

2. Scope of Services

Lambeth Cleaners provides professional cleaning services within its designated service area. The specific tasks, duration, and scope of Services will be agreed at the time of Booking and confirmed in the booking confirmation.

The Customer is responsible for clearly specifying any particular requirements at the time of Booking, including preferred dates and times, areas to be cleaned, and any special instructions. Lambeth Cleaners reserves the right to refuse any request that falls outside its normal service offering or that it considers unsafe or unsuitable.

3. Booking Process

Bookings must be made in advance through the methods made available by Lambeth Cleaners, such as online forms or other accepted channels. A Booking is not confirmed until the Customer receives a booking confirmation from Lambeth Cleaners.

The Customer must provide accurate information when placing a Booking, including the property type, approximate size, condition, and any access restrictions. If the information provided is inaccurate or incomplete, Lambeth Cleaners may adjust the price, modify the scope of work, or, if necessary, decline or cancel the Booking.

Lambeth Cleaners will use reasonable efforts to accommodate preferred dates and times but does not guarantee availability. Bookings are subject to crew availability and scheduling considerations.

Any changes to an existing Booking, such as date, time, or scope, must be requested by the Customer and accepted by Lambeth Cleaners in advance. Additional charges may apply if the changes increase the time or complexity of the Services.

4. Access to the Property

The Customer is responsible for providing safe and timely access to the property at the agreed time. This includes arrangements for keys, entry codes, parking permissions, and any necessary instructions.

If the Cleaner cannot gain access to the property or is delayed because of access issues or waiting time, Lambeth Cleaners may charge a call-out fee or the full service fee, at its discretion.

The Customer must ensure that the property is reasonably accessible and safe for work, including adequate lighting, ventilation, and clear walkways. Lambeth Cleaners reserves the right to refuse or suspend the Services if the environment is unsafe.

5. Customer Obligations

The Customer agrees to:

Provide accurate information about the property and required Services at the time of Booking.

Ensure that the property is in a state that allows the agreed cleaning tasks to be carried out effectively.

Secure any valuable, fragile, or irreplaceable items prior to the arrival of the Cleaner.

Inform Lambeth Cleaners of any known hazards or issues at the property, such as faulty electrics, leaks, infestations, or broken fixtures.

Provide access to water and electricity for the Cleaner to perform the Services, unless otherwise agreed.

The Customer is responsible for providing access to any equipment or facilities that are specifically required and agreed in advance where the Service does not include provision of such equipment.

6. Pricing and Quotations

Prices for Services may be provided as fixed fees, hourly rates, or estimates, depending on the nature of the Booking. Any quotation is based on the information provided by the Customer and on typical conditions for similar properties.

If the actual condition, size, or requirements at the property differ substantially from the information provided, Lambeth Cleaners reserves the right to adjust the price accordingly. This may include additional fees where the work requires extra time, resources, or specialised equipment.

All prices are stated in pounds sterling and may be subject to applicable taxes where required by law. Lambeth Cleaners will inform the Customer of the applicable charges before the Booking is confirmed, wherever reasonably possible.

7. Payments

Payment terms will be communicated at the time of Booking. Lambeth Cleaners may require payment in advance, upon completion, or within a specified period after the Service date, depending on the type of Booking and the Customer profile.

Accepted payment methods will be specified by Lambeth Cleaners and may include card payments, bank transfers, or other recognised methods. Cash payments may be declined or accepted at the sole discretion of Lambeth Cleaners.

For recurring or contractual services, Lambeth Cleaners may issue invoices at regular intervals or per visit, as agreed. The Customer must pay all invoices by the due date stated on the invoice.

In the event of late payment, Lambeth Cleaners reserves the right to charge interest, suspend future Services, and recover any reasonable costs incurred in collecting overdue amounts.

8. Cancellations and Rescheduling

The Customer may cancel or reschedule a Booking by providing notice in accordance with the cancellation policy notified at the time of Booking. As a general rule, a minimum notice period is required for cancellations or changes without charge.

If the Customer cancels or reschedules a Booking with insufficient notice, Lambeth Cleaners may charge a cancellation fee up to a percentage of the agreed service price or the full fee, depending on the timing of the cancellation.

If the Cleaner arrives at the property and is unable to commence the Service due to access issues, safety concerns, or other reasons beyond Lambeth Cleaners control, this may be treated as a late cancellation and charged accordingly.

Lambeth Cleaners reserves the right to cancel or reschedule a Booking in exceptional circumstances, including staff illness, operational issues, severe weather, or events beyond its reasonable control. In such cases, Lambeth Cleaners will offer an alternative appointment or, where appropriate, a refund of any pre-paid amounts for the affected Booking.

9. Quality of Service and Complaints

Lambeth Cleaners aims to provide services with reasonable care and skill. If the Customer is dissatisfied with any aspect of the Service, they must notify Lambeth Cleaners as soon as reasonably possible, providing details and, where relevant, photographs to assist assessment.

Where a complaint is found to be justified, Lambeth Cleaners may offer a re-clean of the affected area, a partial refund, or other appropriate remedy, at its discretion. Any re-clean must ordinarily be carried out within a reasonable period of the original Service date and in the same property.

Complaints raised more than a short period after completion of the Service may be more difficult to verify and may not qualify for rectification, particularly where the condition of the property may have changed.

10. Customer Property and Valuables

The Customer is responsible for securing cash, jewellery, artworks, important documents, and any items of sentimental or high value prior to the Cleaner attending. Lambeth Cleaners does not accept liability for loss of such items unless caused by proven negligence or deliberate misconduct by its staff.

Cleaners are not authorised to handle extensive personal or confidential documents, or to move large or heavy items of furniture or equipment unless this has been agreed in advance and can be done safely.

Lambeth Cleaners recommends that the Customer maintains appropriate insurance coverage for their property and possessions.

11. Liability and Limitations

While Lambeth Cleaners will exercise reasonable care and skill in delivering the Services, the Customer acknowledges that normal wear and tear, pre-existing damage, and the inherent condition of surfaces, furnishings, or materials may limit the results achievable.

Lambeth Cleaners accepts no liability for:

Pre-existing damage, defects, or stains that cannot be fully removed by normal cleaning methods.

Damage resulting from the use of cleaning products or equipment supplied by the Customer or from following instructions provided by the Customer.

Any indirect, consequential, or purely economic loss, including loss of profit, loss of business, or loss of opportunity.

Where Lambeth Cleaners is found liable for any loss or damage, its total aggregate liability, whether in contract, tort, or otherwise, will be limited to the total amount paid by the Customer for the relevant Booking during which the loss or damage occurred, except where such limitation is not permitted by law.

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions shall exclude or limit any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence or for fraud.

12. Health, Safety, and Environmental Requirements

Lambeth Cleaners carries out Services in line with applicable health and safety requirements. The Customer agrees not to request or insist upon any task that might reasonably be considered unsafe or beyond the competence or equipment of the Cleaner.

Certain areas or items may be excluded from cleaning where they present a safety risk, including but not limited to damaged electrical fittings, unstable structures, or areas contaminated with hazardous materials.

The Customer must inform Lambeth Cleaners in advance if there are any specific health concerns, such as allergies to common cleaning products, to allow for appropriate adjustments where possible.

13. Waste Handling and Regulations

Lambeth Cleaners will handle and dispose of ordinary household or office waste generated during the cleaning process in a manner consistent with applicable UK waste regulations and local requirements.

Unless specifically agreed in advance, Lambeth Cleaners does not remove large volumes of waste from the property, and does not dispose of hazardous, clinical, or regulated waste, including but not limited to chemicals, paint, building rubble, biological waste, or sharp objects.

The Customer is responsible for ensuring that any items intended for disposal are clearly identified and that no valuable or important items are mixed with waste. Lambeth Cleaners is not liable for items discarded where they were reasonably identified as waste by the Cleaner.

Where specialist waste removal is required, this must be arranged separately by the Customer or under a specific agreement that sets out the additional charges and requirements.

14. Use of Customer Equipment

Where the Customer requests or requires the use of their own cleaning products or equipment, the Customer accepts responsibility for ensuring that such products and equipment are safe, suitable, and in good working order.

Lambeth Cleaners is not liable for any damage or poor results arising from the use of Customer-supplied products or equipment, or from instructions given by the Customer regarding their use.

15. Staff and Non-Solicitation

The Customer agrees not to directly or indirectly employ, engage, or offer work to any Cleaner or staff member introduced by Lambeth Cleaners for a period of 12 months from the last date that individual provided Services to the Customer through Lambeth Cleaners.

If the Customer breaches this clause, Lambeth Cleaners reserves the right to charge a reasonable introduction or recruitment fee, calculated by reference to the costs of hiring and training replacement staff.

16. Privacy and Data Protection

Lambeth Cleaners collects and processes personal data necessary to manage Bookings, deliver Services, and administer its business. Customer information will be handled in accordance with applicable data protection laws in the United Kingdom.

Personal data will not be sold to third parties. It may be shared with staff, contractors, and service providers strictly for the purposes of fulfilling Bookings and managing the relationship with the Customer or as required by law.

17. Changes to Terms and Conditions

Lambeth Cleaners may update or amend these Terms and Conditions from time to time to reflect changes in law, business practices, or services offered. The updated Terms and Conditions will apply to new Bookings from the date of publication or notification.

For ongoing or contractual arrangements, Lambeth Cleaners will provide reasonable notice of significant changes. Continued use of the Services after such notice will constitute acceptance of the updated Terms and Conditions.

18. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms and Conditions and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with them, or with any Services provided by Lambeth Cleaners, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.

The parties agree that the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with these Terms and Conditions or the Services, including any non-contractual disputes or claims.

19. Severability

If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is found by a court or other competent authority to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, that provision will be deemed deleted, but the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

20. Entire Agreement

These Terms and Conditions, together with any written confirmation of Booking and any additional written agreement specific to a particular service, constitute the entire agreement between Lambeth Cleaners and the Customer in relation to the Services and supersede any prior discussions, correspondence, or understandings.

By placing a Booking with Lambeth Cleaners, the Customer acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions.
